Rebecca Tenenbein, B.A., M.A.

Rebecca is devoted to teaching and educating students in an inclusive and thoughtful manner. Her passion for Judaic studies began in high school when she assisted her cantor in tutoring younger children at their synagogue. From there, she went on to SUNY Binghamton to receive a B.A. in Judaic Studies. Rebecca’s desire to make Judaism accessible to all led her to earn a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from Columbia University Teachers College. After additional coursework in cantorial studies, Rebecca became a learning specialist in Jewish Studies at two private high schools and embarked on over 20 years in the profession of teaching and education.

Rebecca is now the associate director of the student learning center at the upper school of a private Manhattan Jewish day school. She has been tutoring students for their Bar/Bat Mitzvahs for over 20 years and has led such services for more than 11 years. She resides in Manhattan.

As the mother of three children, it brings Rebecca great pride and joy to make this important life milestone accessible to children and families from all Jewish backgrounds and needs.
